Runco’s Q-750i LED projector
LED (light-emitting diode) light engine technology is gaining momentum as a viable home theater projector technology.
What makes it different than the current crop of the more common DLP and LCD projectors? Helen Anne Travis from projectorpeople.com provides the low-down.
LED Advantages
LED Disadvantages

Theres nothing mentioned about noise or heat. Id assume that the LED lamps would run a lot cooler and require a smallet or slower and quiter fan.
Also Im fairly sure that LEDs DO get dimmer over their lifetime.
It’s probably a typo… It should probably be 1000 hours…
Also another HUGE advantage that I’m surprised you did not mention is the superior video, contrast, and color quality you will receive.
Also a HUGE disadvantage is lumen rating… They are definietly a lot less bright. They need to be in an extremely light controlled room…
How can you have a 4000 hour lamp that is half as bright after 10000 hours?
“Lower Cost of Ownership. Traditional mercury lamps last about 4,000 hours and cost around $400 to replace. LED light sources last more than 10 times longer.
Lack of Dimming and/or Burnout Over Time. Mercury lamps can grow dimmer over time, losing as much as 50 percent of their brightness after 10,000 hours of use. LEDs don’t suffer from this problem.”
Should TV manufacturers offer dumbed-down TVs that focus on image quality rather than apps?

Sure it does, albeit offhandedly, under “Easier to Use”.

They absolutely do, although it’s surely much improved over mercury lamps.
