The Artist

A film doesn’t need special effects or huge box-office receipts to snag a statue. In fact, you don’t even need dialogue. This little black-and-white silent film is making a lot of noise as the front runner for Best Picture. Best Actor nominee Jean Dujardin plays George Valentin, a silent film star worried about his existence in a world about to be overrun by “talkies.”
