Philips L Prize LED

It’s finally here. The 10-watt (60-watt equivalent), 940-lumen Philips LED lamp that won the Department of Energy’s L Prize will be available at select Home Depot stores on Earth Day. The bulb is shaped in a way that casts a bright, warm light. Initial price will be about $50, but Philips hopes to get the cost down to the $25 range by year’s end. Not to be confused with the similar-looking 12-watt, 805-lumen AmbientLED that’s been available for several years.
