Safe House

Denzel Washington plays ex-CIA on the run in this 2011 thriller. It’s another notch in Washington’s action-packed utility belt, but this time he drags Green Lantern star Ryan Reynolds along for the bumpy ride. It’s not the best action flick, but the leads (mostly Washington) make it work.

The Blu-ray is where this release really shines. It has a super sharp 2.40:1 image and a DTS-HD Master Audio track that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Those two items alone make this one worth picking up, but there are a ton of shorty extras, picture-in-picture commentary and the option to get an exclusive featurette through Universal’s pocket BLU app. Also, the 2-disc set includes a standard-def DVD, a Digital Copy and an UltraViolet copy of the movie.
