People seemed pretty surprised (and disappointed) when it was first announced that Sony was planning to make the ‘80s TV show 21 Jump Street into a film—with Jonah Hill. However, the movie turned out to be funny and became a big hit, even with a few tweaks. Instead of a full cast of young-looking characters, this version focuses on Hill’s Schmidt and his partner Jenko (Channing Tatum), as they go undercover at a local high school.
The 2.40:1 transfer is pretty much what you’d expect from a newer release, with the DTS-HD Master Audio offering up plenty of smashes, crashes and gunfire. Other than that, there is director and cast commentary, deleted scenes and bloopers, several behind-the-scenes featurettes (including one with original Jump Street star Johnny Depp), and an UltraViolet Digital Copy.
