When the Farrelly Brothers announced plans for a Three Stooges update, reaction was mixed. Some people thought the brothers were insane, while others thought they were really insane. Then came word that the duo was casting Benicio del Toro, Sean Penn and Jim Carrey as slapstick’s most famous trio. Well, that didn’t exactly work out, but the movie wasn’t the eye-poke people were expecting. Sean Hayes, Chris Diamantopoulos and Will Sasso are pretty decent in this modern reboot.
The 2-disc set includes a 1.85:1 aspect ratio, a DTS-HD Master Audio track, and a DVD copy of the movie. Also, this set has a surprising amount of extras, such as deleted and extended scenes, screen tests and casting info, a short on the sound effects, and a Stooges history lesson titled, “What’s the Big Idea?”
