High Noon: 60th Anniversary Edition

It may not have the same high-def fanfare as Singin’ in the Rain, but High Noon deserves the same type of celebration. Hailed as one of the greatest westerns of all time, this film snagged several Oscars, including one for Best Picture. Gary Cooper stars as Will Kane, a sheriff looking to save his town from a gang of killers bent on revenge. Before the final showdown, look for Grace Kelly, Lloyd Bridges, Lon Chaney and Henry Morgan to be standing by his side.

This high-def upgrade includes a 1.35:1 aspect ratio and a single DTS-HD Master Audio Mono track. Despite being an anniversary edition, this single-disc release only has “The Making of High Noon” and the film’s theatrical trailer. Still, you’ll want to snag it for the sheer fun of the film.
