Casa de Mi Padre

Does the idea of Will Ferrell in an all-Spanish film sound completely ridiculous? That’s because it is—but sort of on purpose. After all, the film was billed as “from the gringos that brought you Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.” Ferrell plays a Mexican (sure) rancher who must protect his family’s property from a drug lord. In between watching the subtitles, keep your eyes peeled for a famous supporting cast, including Gael García Bernal, Diego Luna, Efren Ramirez, and Nick Offerman.

This single-disc release has a nice 2.35:1 aspect ratio and a DTS HD Master Audio Spanish track. Special features include a “making of” featurette, deleted scenes, the “Fight for Love” music video, “commerciales,” and audio commentary with director Matt Piedmont, writer/producer Andrew Steele and star Will Ferrell.
