Dr. Seuss' The Lorax

The creative minds/minions from Despicable Me are behind this big-screen adaptation of the beloved Dr. Seuss tale. It’s the story of Ted (voiced by Zac Efron), a young boy looking to impress a girl (of course!) by finding her a real, living tree. To find out just what happened to the trees, however, he first needs to seek out the Once-ler (Ed Helms) and learn the story of The Lorax (Danny DeVito).

It’s a twisted tale with a ton of famous voices. However, the film came out to mixed reviews. You may want to judge for yourself, though, considering this release’s stunning 1.78:1 transfer (in 2D and 3D!) and immersive DTS-HD Master Audio track. The extras include three new mini movies, games, deleted scenes and more—mostly extras for the wee ones. The 3D version also throws in an extra tutorial on how to draw some of the film’s characters. Both sets pack in a standard-def DVD and an UltraViolet Digital Copy of the movie.

Rating: PG
Runtime: 87 minutes
Total Number of Discs: 3 (3D version), 2 (2D version)
