Full Metal Jacket: 25th Anniversary Blu-ray Book

The fact that this is the third Blu-ray for this film is probably its major malfunction. That said, Stanley Kubrick’s hellish look at war is a true classic, and possibly the best work we’ve seen on-screen from Matthew Modine, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Adam Baldwin.

This 25th anniversary edition comes packaged in a Blu-ray book, which is a neat new feature. It has a note from Modine, photos from his Full Metal Jacket Diary, and info about the newly launched companion iPad app (which looks very cool!). Another nice, new addition is a standard-def DVD for the documantary, Stanley Kubrick’s Boxes. Otherwise, the other extras, as well as the 1.85:1 aspect ratio, PCM 5.1 audio and Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks, are all pick-ups from the 2007 Deluxe Edition.

Rating: R
Runtime: 117 minutes
Total Number of Discs: 2
Studio: Warner Bros.
