It’s hard to believe that some studios still don’t release certain titles on Blu-ray—or at least these titles. We wanted to give a special shout-out to two new releases, which are only available on standard-def DVD.
First up is a combo disc of Happy Endings: Seasons 1 & 2. This 5-disc set combines the surprise hit’s previously released first season with the upcoming season two release for one price. The first season has most of the extras, with interviews, previews, songs and deleted scenes. We have to wonder if the second season’s stand-alone release will have a few additional extras; here, it’s just deleted scenes and outtakes.
We haven’t quite made it to “six seasons and a movie.” However, Community: The Complete Third Season is out today on DVD. Here the cult hit gets a 3-disc release, with a 1.78:1 aspect ratio, a Dolby Digital 5.1 track, deleted scenes, gag reels, a mockumentary, episode commentary, and the “A Glee-ful Community Christmas” featurette.
