The Who’s rock opera inspired this classic film, which gets a Criterion release. Phil Daniels stars as a teen filled with angst (and a few drugs), who spends time raising hell with his fellow mods. Sting and Ray Winstone also star.
The single-disc release has a restored 1.85:1 aspect ratio, as well as a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track and a LPCM 2.0 track. Other features include new interviews, a new commentary, and various featurettes, as well as a booklet with an essay by critic Howard Hampton, a personal history by original mod Irish Jack, and Pete Townshend’s liner notes from the 1973 album.
