You take the idol; we’ll take the Blu-ray. Raiders of the Lost Ark has been at the top of our Blu-ray wishlist for quite some time. Paramount finally delivers that title, as part of this 5-disc box set. As you could tell by the title, this is the “complete” adventures of our hero—at least his movie adventures. The set includes a remastered version of that original film, as well as the three sequels, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
As if having four movies wasn’t good enough, Paramount has thrown in a hearty collection of extras. Each film has its own teasers and trailers, with an entire fifth disc dedicated to 7 hours of special features, including the brand-new, two-part documentary, “On Set with Raiders of the Lost Ark - From Jungle to Desert and From Adventure to Legend.” Also, all four films have a 2.40:1 aspect ratio and a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track. Director Steven Spielberg supervised the restoration of Raiders, so you can be guaranteed this one is well worth the wait.
