Hawaii Five-O: The Second Season

It’s hard to believe that this TV remake would make it past the third episode. Well, here we are. The second season is a fun one, starting off with everyone in hot water. We find McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) up on murder charges, Kono (Grace Park) suspended from the force, Chin Ho (Daniel Dae Kim) arrested, and Danno (Scott Caan) trying to track down his kidnapped daughter. The characters and the action put this one in a very exclusive club of successful reboots.

The set comes with a Dolby Digital 5.1 track, but it’s the 1.78:1 image that’s a real standout. The surroundings are downright gorgeous on this one. What would you expect from a show that takes place in paradise? Other features on the 5-disc set include select deleted scenes and a few episode commentaries, as well as a gag reel, a short about the location, featurettes about the season, and a little something called “Becoming a Seal: An Insider’s Guide to the World’s Toughest Training.”
