It’s hard to believe that some studios still don’t release certain titles on Blu-ray—or at least these titles. We wanted to give a special shout-out to two new DVD-only releases this week.
First up is something called Steve Martin: The Television Stuff. Shout! Factory put together this 3-disc set, which includes six stand-up and sketch-type TV specials that originally aired between 1976 and 1981. There’s also an insane amount of guest appearances, including Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, Bill Murray, Lynn Redgrave, Paul Simon, David Letterman, Carl Reiner, Eric Idle and Johnny Cash, among others.
We’re also happy to see Get A Life: The Complete Series get a release this week. Sadly, the comedy is not getting a Blu-ray. Bummer! The show about Chris Elliot as a 30-year-old paperboy living above his parents’ (played by Elliot’s real-life mom Elinor Donahue and dad/comedian Bob Elliott) garage has become a real cult classic and is definitely one worth picking up.
