A Nightmare on Elm Street

There’s something very disturbing about being attacked in your sleep. That’s our happy place! Not so much for this film’s gaggle of groggy teens. Bonus points to this movie because that group includes a young Johnny Depp, who ends his very first film role by being eaten by a bed.

Warner Bros. released a much more polished remake in 2010. However, around the same time, they released this version, with a 1.78:1 image, a DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 track and a slew of creepy extras. The latter includes several alternate endings, two commentary tracks, a bit on the franchise, and a featurette titled, “Never Sleep Again.” No problem!
