Earlier this year, HBO gave this awesome show an awesome Blu-ray release. Now, they are beefing it up with this “Collector’s Edition”—just in time for the holidays. The super-sized set features all of the kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars and noblemen from the first season. If you aren’t watching, you’re missing out on a stellar cast, which includes Sean Bean, Mark Addy, Lena Headey, Nikolaj Coster-Waldaum, Aidan Gillen, and Peter Dinklage.
Besides the 1.78:1 aspect ratio and the DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1, this box features Blu-ray, DVD, Digital Copy and UltraViolet Digital Copy versions of all 10 episodes from this season. Everything is packed up nicely in a special box, along with a special dragon egg paperweight and a Blu-ray bonus disc of season two, episode one. There’s also a king-sized selection of extras, including the interactive “Complete Guide to Westeros,” a making-of featurette, character profiles, a piece on the show’s opening sequence, a total of seven audio commentaries, plenty of “Dragon Eggs,” and much more.
