Schlage Camelot Touchscreen Deadbolt with Alarm
Schlage has been cranking out Z-Wave-enabled door locks for years to integrate with Z-Wave home automation systems. Then the company came out with its own home automation system Schlage Link and now has yet another version of the control software called Nexia. Nexia, Schlage and Trane (HVAC) are owned by Ingersoll Rand Co. (IRCO). All three shared a booth at CES 2013 under the IRCO umbrella.
At the show, Schlage introduced the Camelot Touchscreen Deadbolt with Alarm. In addition to being fully integratable with Z-Wave-enabled control systems, the lock has some interesting new features.
It has a built-in alarm with accelerometer, and can alert homeowners with a beep based on activity (too many attempts at entering a code), tamper or forced entry.
Also at CES, Schlage announced it was teaming up with Budget Blinds to incorporate the Z-Wave-enabled motorized shades into the Nexia ecosystem.
The Nexia service costs $8.99 per month for remote access, but the Z-Wave lock can integrate free of charge with other home automation systems.
