Backup Power

East coasters who experienced lengthy blackouts from hurricane Sandy know how precious power can be, but even a very short and sudden loss of power can damage your home theater system. Projectors and DVRs include fans to keep the delicate internal parts cool, so sudden power losses prevent the proper cool-down period when you turn your gear off. An inexpensive backup power system such as the H10BLK from APC’s AV line (pictured here) can save your best equipment from frying by giving you a few extra minutes to properly power down in case of an unexpected blackout.
