Wireless Dimmer

How many times have you sat down to enjoy a movie, when you realized you needed to get back up, walk across the room and shut off (or turn down) all the room lights? Even if you’ve got a bright projector, it’s always best to watch a movie in the dark the way commercial theaters show them.

Adding a wireless dimmer or several to your media room is easy and inexpensive. If you have in-wall dimmers and light switches, then replace them with Lutron’s Maestro dimmers (pictured). For floor lamps try the Maestro Wireless Lamp Dimmer. Another fun gadget that lets you turn down the lights remotely is Insteon’s networked LED bulb. Setting that up takes a little more time (you need to install the Smart Linc Hub) but when it’s done, turning down the room lights takes just a tap from an iOS or Android phone.
